His wife, Sarah is listed as a "domestic".≤/p>≤p>≤p>≤/p>≤/p>≤p>The 1870 Census for Gadsden County shows James' wife, Sarah living alone with the three youngest children so it is not known at this time whether she was a widow by then or there had been a separation.
