James K. Sandusky, 46, of 1816 Florence, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 15, 1934 in Savannah, Tenn., and had lived in South Bend for 27 years after coming from Alabama.
On Aug. 5, 1974, in Guntersville, Ala., he married Connie L. Sandefur, who survives.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. today at the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home. Dale Hiner of the North Unit of Jehovah Witness officiated. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Sandusky, of Mishawaka; two daughters, Miss Tammy Gail Sandusky and Miss Beverly Kaye Sandusky, both of Mishawaka; a step-daughter, Miss Jeannie Barnett, of South Bend; three sons, James, Mark F., and Jeffrey D., all of Mishawaka; two step-sons, Cecil V. VanHuffle and Lawrence Sandefur, both of Mishawaka; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Franklin, of Mishawaka, Mrs. Charles Madden, of Phil Campbell, Ala., and Mrs. Waylon Pigg, of Florence, Ala.; and three brothers, R.D. and George Sandusky, both of Phil Campbell, Ala., and J.E. Sandusky, of Mishawaka.
