James William Scoggin, Welder & mechanic

Forest-- James William “Jim” Scoggin, 50, a welder and mechanic, died of cancer Friday at home.

  • Services are 3 pm today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial in Midway Baptist Cemetery in Newton. Visitation is 8 am to 3 pm today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home.
  • Mr Socoggin was a Newton County native. He had been a resident of Forest since 1974 when he moved from Meridian.
  • He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Newton. Mr. Scoggin was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Homewood Hunting Club and the Bienville Shooters Club, both in Forest.
  • Survivors include: wife, Bobbie; daughters, Rena Hollingsworth of West Monroe, La, and Wendy Scoggin of Forest; mother Annie Scoggin of Decatur; brothers Charles Scoggin and Clark, both ofr Newton and Robert Scoggin of Bay Springs, and Sisters, Sandra Fisher of Carthage and Ava Clardy of Pascagoula.
