About James Brigham Timothy

Funeral Services were held Dec. 1, at 1 pm in the Altonah Ward Chapel for James Brigham Timothy 70, with Claude Murray conducting. Prayer was offered at the home by Jerry Clark; prelude and postlude music played by Mrs. Lucy Jacobson; chorus sang "Prayer Perfect", Norma Jessen, Verna Allre, Gean Lambert, Ruth Dastrup and Bonnie Ann Ames, with Carolyn Dastrup accompanist. Invocation, Presley Timothy; speaker Glen Mohlman; duet, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine", by Bernard and Ruth Dastrup with Carolyn accompanist; talk by Grant Foote; song "Sometime We'll Understand",by the chorus; remarks by Claude Murray. Benediction by Joseph Timothy Jr. Pall bearers were Charley Timothy, Levear Timothy, Kay Timothy, Kenneth Alexander, Dan Clark and James Clark. Burial was in the Altonah cemetry under the direction of Olpin Mortuary; George Berrett dedicated the grave. Mr. Timothy died Wednesday Nov. 28 in a Price hospital after a lingering illness. He was born Dec. 9, 1885 to Brigham and Hannah Sabey Timothy in Maeser Utah, and came to Altonah with his parents in 1908 where he resided until his death. He married Thora Johnson May 6, 1915, Mrs. Timothy died Nov. 14, 1948. Mr. Timothy was a farmer and stock man, homesteading on a farm in Clay Basin east of Altonah. He was very active in helping build the town including the church house. Survivors are 2 sons; Bishop J Arthur Timothy of Altonah and Glade Timothy of Provo, 7 grand-children; 4 brothers, Sabe of Salt Lake, Heber of Tod Park, Von and Charley of Bonanza; 2 sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Eliza) Clark of Vernal, Mrs. Bert (Lottie) Allen of Price.
