About James Wallace
James was born about 1774 in Washington Co., MD. He married Susanna Stack September 4, 1799 in Hagerstown, Washington Co, MD by Rev. Smoker (Smucker?) Lutheran minister.
James is thought to have served in the War of 1812 but it is nearly impossible to pinpoint which "James Wallace" (there are several) in MD was our James without more specific information like an exact birthdate or the names of his parents.
It is unfortunate that so little is known about James who moved his family to IL after the death of his wife in about 1845.
He was buried in Rice Graveyard, North of Mt. Morris, Ill. Date of death unknown.
