About James Walsh
Possible match for an 1856 naturalization record:

1860 census: this is a likely match for James and Bridget Welsh in Star Prairie, St. Croix County. Star Prairie is adjacent to Stanton, and since Stanton was named after a civil war figure, it probably wasn't a town at the time of the 1860 census. There is another Welsh household adjacent to James and Bridget in this census that is likely to show James's parents and siblings.

1875 Wisconsin census - this just lists his name and says there were 4 males and 2 females. 4 males is probably James and his three boys James, John and Joseph. The 2 females are probably Bridget and Mary.

1880 census

1900 census: The 1900 census says that James' wife Bridget was the mother of 6, of whom 3 were living at the time of the census. Joseph and Mary are two of these three surviving children (since they were living in the same household at the time). The other surviving child is probably John. Their son James died before 1900 and there must have been another child who died young. This census record also shows the month and year of her birth date as well as an approx. 1862 date (although 1860 is probably correct) for marriage and 1850 date of immigration for both James and Bridget.

1910 census
(Says he immigrated 1840 and married c. 1860. The marriage date may be correct, but probably not the immigration date. The correct immigration date is probably closer to 1853 when other members of his family immigrated)
