Jamie Anderson is an American professional snowboarder. She won the gold medal in the inaugural Women's Slopestyle Event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and repeated the feat at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, making her the first female snowboarder to win more than one Olympic gold medal. She has won gold medals in slopestyle at the Winter X Games in consecutive years in 2007/8 and 2012/3. As of January 2022, she has 14 total medals: eighteen gold, five silver and two bronze. Of her own ancestry, Anderson says:
"My mom is from Vermont and my dad from is from Marin County, California. My heritage is Norwegian on my dad's side, and French Canadian on my mom's. With a bit of Irish and French as well. I’ve never done the full bloodline test but I’d like to one day!"
So far, her Geni tree shows that her paternal grandfather's father, Solomon "Sam" Anderson, came from Sweden, while her paternal grandfather's mother, Anna Lovisa (Anderson) Anderson, was from the Swedish community in Finland. Per her family's research, her paternal grandmother was born to an Irish-born father. Any Norwegian ancestry may be found further back.
On her maternal side, her tree so far shows that her ancestry includes French-Canadian, Irish, and English.
