5,- Jan Jacobsz. Breed= born Edam ca.1580 – died ca.1649

Married at Edam, 22nd of January 1612, Stijn Heins, who was buried in the Groote Kerk of Edam on 7th of June 1613, where her gravestone is still present. Her remains were removed during a major renovation.
Jan Jacobsz. Breed was from 1627 – 1648 Regent (proevevoogd) of the Proviand House (Proeveniershuis) at Edam, in which capacity he exercised financial control over the Proeveniershuis and social control over its inhabitants. The Proeveniershuis provided food and accommodation for the “worthy” destitute.
