About Jan Marcin Ekmann
Jan was married in Poland about 1865 to Katherine Barbara Remus.Tthey are in the 1870 Federal Census in Trempealeau, WI.They are farming. Some time after that they moved to Winona where he dies of Feb 14, 1874. He is listed as the 4th death in St. Stanislaus Kosta church records in Winona. He is listed in chuch records as being buried in St. Mary's cemetery. Either he was buried w/o a marker or it has eroded away. His F-A-G # is 131439222.
His wife Barbara remarries a few months later to Frank Stolpa on June 21,1874.
No records of him having children have been found.
