Jan 'At' Adriaan Venter (1933 - 2004)
Brief overview:
At (71), from farm Leeufontein, Kameeldrift, a dairy farmer, who sold milk and eggs, and his wife, Marine Elizabeth Venter (Rien/Rienet) (67), were both shot dead on 30th October 2004 during an attack.
Police spokesman Percy Morokane said there appeared to be no motive for the murders. The couple's cars were still parked in the garage and their mobile phones were on the table.
At's body was found with a head wound and laying in the foyer of their house , while Rien's body was next to the couple's bed in the master bedroom with a gunshot wound to the chest. They were both wearing their night clothes.
It is suspected that Venter knew his killer because there were no signs of a break-in or forced access is not.
