About Jane Berners
In vol. 1 of Chauncy's "Historical Antiques of Hertfordshire", it is mentioned that Jane Berners was married to a certain "Sibthorpe of Bardfeild in Essex, Chief Justice in Ireland". https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000135274894822&
In fact, the “Chief Justice in Ireland” was Sir Christopher Sibthorpe, but chronologically it is very doubtful that he could be her husband, since Sir Christopher Sibthorpe was born in the 1560s, and Jane Berners was born until 1540 (the year her father died).
Whereas in “Visitation of Essex” there is a mention that "John Sibthorpe of Great Bardfeld in com. Essex" (John Sibthorpe, of Much Bardfield, Essex) had a daughter, Elizabeth by the daughter of a certain "M. Berners", most likely Jane Berners was the wife of this John Sibthorpe, father of Sir Christopher Sibthorpe. https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000134414152821
It is unclear whether John Sibthorpe (John Sibthorpe, of Much Bardfield, Essex) had any other wife than Jane Berners. If not, then most likely Jane Berners was also the mother of Sir Christopher Sibthorpe.
