About Jane Sylvania Howe
On November 10, 1840, he married Jane S. Manley. She was born October 16,1823, in Onondaga County, NY, the daughter of Nathaniel Manley and Polley (Hovey) Manley. Nathaniel was born 1784 in Vermont.
Jane died on November, 23 1881, at the age of 58 years. Her tombstone bears the following inscription: "She lived a life of a Christian, worthy of Imitation." Samuel and Jane had eleven children, all were born in Cattaraugus County, N.Y.
