Brumfield and her mother Nancy (Adkins) Watts. She was listed as Jane Brumfield, using her step-fathers surname. George Johnson (age 21 years 5 mos, born Lawrence County, Ohio; son of S. & S. Johnson) married Jane Watts (age 16 years 5 mos., born Lawrence County, Kentucky; daughter of H. & N. Watts) on 20 December 1855 in Wayne County, Virginia. The groom's occupation was farming.
