Jane Lasater Rubey's full name was Martha Jane Lasater Rubey, although she was not known as Martha except to her mother, Elsie Lasater, who occasionally called her Martha Jane.

James T. Ruby (as he was known then) and Jane Lasater were married on October 18, 1930 at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Washington D.C. He was 24; she was 22 at the time of their marriage. Witnesses were Paul Gorge and Elanor Cook. Their parents are listed correctly as Edward E. Ruby and Blanche Blynn Ruby, and hers as James Harvey Lasater and Elsie Ayers Lasater. We have photocopy of their marriage entered in the books of St. Columba's in the family Bible and visited the church when we were last in Washington, D.C. (Janet Ayers Rubey Murray)
