Obituary The use of the sudden and sad death of Mrs. J. N. Reese of River Styx was received with profound sorrow among her neighbors in Montville, to whom she had been long and favorably known. Her kinsmen have the sympathy of our people and their sorrow.

Elsewhere in the same addition: died, suddenly and unexpectedly, on Sunday evening June 19, 1887, Mrs. Jane Reese, wife of Jacob and Reese, under the following distressing circumstances. Mrs. Reese, assisted by a neighbor woman, went into the cornfield for the purpose of driving out some cattle which had broken into the corn, and while so engaged a large bowl among the cattle turned and ran after them. Very much frightened, the two women ran to the fence, the neighbor woman getting over and Mrs. Reese, while getting over, fell from the top of the fence to the ground. She was taken to the house in an unconscious condition and lived but a short time. It is not known whether the cause of death. The funeral took place on Wednesday, attended by a large concourse of sympathizing and sorrowing relatives, neighbors and friends. None knew her but to love her.
