    • (III). I. ELIZABETH AMELIA ATLEE,eldest daughtei of Judge William Augustus and Esther Sayre Atlee, was born at Lancaster, Pa., January 19th, 1765; bap, bv the Rev. Mr. Thos. Barton, February 17th, 1765 - sponsors, Mrs. JANE ATLEE, WILLIAM and ESTHER ATLEE ; married, by the Rev. Mr. Campbell, December 7th, 1786, at Acton, Lancaster county, Pa., to MAJOR MOSES WHITE, of Rutland, Mass., second son of JOHN WHITE, of Haverhill, Mass., by his first wife, MIRIAM HAZEN (widow of Richard Hazen, her maiden name being Hoyt). He was born June 29th, 1750. At the age of 20, he entered the army and became the aide of Gen. Moses Hazen, serving through the war. They sailed for Boston April 2d, 1787. She died June 12th, 1808; he died at Springfield, Mass., May 28th, 1833.

(III). (IV). JANE ATLEE, fourth dr. of WILLISAM AUGUSTUS and ESTHER ATLEE was b. at Lancaster, Pa., July 14th, 1769; bap. by the Rev. Thomas Barton, August 20th, 1769 ; m., December 2d, 1790, at Acton, by the Rev. Dr. Wm. Handle, to ELISH A SEPTIMUS RIGG (son of Clement and Rachel Rigg), b. in Chester Co., Pa., June 22d, 1761. He was an Episcopalian clergyman at Lancaster, Pa.; afterwards rector of St. Paul's Parish, in Queen Anne Co., Md. He d. February 6th, 1804, and was interred under the chancel arch of St. Luke's Church, at Wye Mills, Talbot Co., Md.*

  • Note: The present St. Luke's Church, Wye Parish, whs formerly St, Paul's Chapel, of St. Paul's Parish. Rev. Mr. Albert Ware, the rector, writes me that a marble slab, with the following inscription, was sent to the church, some thirty years ago : " Beneath this stone Iie the remains of that eminent and faithfiul servant of God, the Rev, Elisha Rigg rector of this parish from A.D.. I796 until his death, February 6th, 1804. ' The memory of the just is blessed" This tablet has never been fixed in the wall.
