NC State Troops. Widow Jane Starnes applied for pension June 19, 1901 at age 75
from Mineral Springs. She had been on pension roll about 9 years at that time.
Stated that her husband had been captured at Gettysburg and died in prison at Point Lookout in winter of
1864.
