12 November 1614: Instrument taken by Walter Lord Blantyre, donator of the ward and marriage of James Lord Royston and apparent heir of deceased Robert Lord Ross, his father, for himself and as procurator for Jane Stuart, his daughter, upon his offering his daughter to James Lord Ross in marriage, requiring James to come to Blantyre with friends of his choice on 22 Nov next to discuss the marriage with Jane Stuart and her father, and requiring James to appear in the parish kirk of Blantyre upon Sunday 18 Dec before noon to solemnize and complete the bond of matrimony with the said Jane.
