It has been claimed that Janet Hunter, here treated, married a man named Buchanan. A man named John Buchanan did marry a lady named Janet Hunter, they was booked to marry on 12 December 1742, at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, Scotland, [National Records of Scotland, Glasgow Marriages, 1729-65, reference OPR.644/1/25] but evidence which connects the child born at East Kilbride in 1713 with the woman who married John Buchanan at Glasgow in 1742 is not provided and none has been found.
