Janice P. Reese, age 84, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Forestview Nursing Center. Born in Renovo, Pa., on January 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Glenn F. and Anna (Nicholas) Painter.
Janice was a graduate of West Penn Nursing School and received a Masters Degree in Nursing from Slippery Rock College.
She had worked as a registered nurse at Hamot Hospital. She was a member of Ikabana (a Pittsburgh embroidery group), and enjoyed Japanese flower arranging, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Frank D. Reese; three sons, Frank Reese III, wife Liza, and their children, DeWitt and Jane Reese, all of Darien, Conn., Charles Reese, of Madison, Conn., and his children, Andrew and Thomas Reese, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert Reese, wife Robin, and her children Adelaide and Nathaniel Lessord, all of Newark, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Painter, wife Martha, and Douglas Painter, wife Joanne, all of Erie; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Home , on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m., with Rev. J. Howard Wright of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
