Jason W.[1] Franklin was born about 1825 in New York to Samuel Franklin and Betsey Appleby.[2] [3]

His family moved to Wilmington, Will County, Illinois to homestead. Jason's father bought land in 1844, in Will and also 16 acres south of the Kankakee River. Jason waited till 01 Feb 1848 to buy his own land; he received certificate #24877 for 80 acres in Will County, Illinois. [4] After his father died of fever in July of 1849, en route to the California Gold Rush, he and his brothers lived at home and helped his mother farm in Will County till her death in 1853. [5][6]

He was born 27 Jun 1854 in Illinois to Jason's brother Nathaniel and lived with Jason's family in various census. He died 18 Sep 1879 in Milford, Iroquois, IL.[3]

Ann died, possibly during or shortly after childbirth with Lodema,[3] as Jason married his second wife, Mary Elizabeth[3] Rainford on 17 Oct 1863 in Will County, Illinois.[12]Jason and Mary Elizabeth had the following known children:

Benjamin Bryan[3] Franklin was born about 1865 in Wesley, Will County, Illinois.
