Annie Mae (McCann) Tudor (Aug. 29, 2012): "Yes I remember aunt Dorothy, wife of Uncle J. D. McCann. Uncle & my Daddy who were brothers, Both worked at Possom Kingdom when that dam was being built. I was 5 yrs. old back then. Uncle J.D.& aunt Dorothy lived in a nice house located down a slope from us. I was allowed to go with aunt Dorothy several times when she went to visit her family in Strawn. I enjoyed the visits. By the way, Carla Clark, is my Daddy's youngest sister Dorothy (aunt Dot Gryder & uncle Richard Gryder's youngest daughter).... As you can see, different people in our family might have same first names (some times) Aunt Dot Gryder is four years older than me. Growing up we spent a lot of time together . After she & uncle Richard married, they lived in another state. I saw their children a few times, but not enough that I really got to know them well, like most of the McCann's in the family when I was younger. Back then there were a lot of family get together s. But eventually not as many. I have very dear memories of them & a lot more family also. My Daddy as first born of 15 children. All lived to be grown, except 2 of Daddy's sisters that passed away young. One rests in Oklahoma & one rests near my grandparents in the Proctor Cemetery, TX. By the way, Grandmother raised 15 children. She raised Uncle Scott's daughters after aunt Moody died when the youngest was a tiny baby. Uncle Scott never remarried again.
