MULLINS - Mrs. Jean Stackhouse Lewis Bane, 88, widow of Letcher Hollins "L. H." Bane Jr., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in a local hospital after an illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bane was born April 1, 1916, in Mullins, a daughter of the late O'Dell and Loula Derham Lewis. She was a lifelong member of Mullins First Baptist Church. Mrs. Bane was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a 1937 graduate of Limestone College and a retired educator. She loved flowers and her family.

Surviving Mrs. Bane are two sons and daughters-in-law, Letcher Hollins Bane, III and Judee Bane of Savannah, Ga., and O'Dell Lewis Bane and Sandra ONeal Bane of Mullins; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
