Not the mother of Col. James George Graham, Sr.
Some sources show that Jean Foster was born about 1711 in either Sumner, Tennessee or Rowan, North Carolina. James Graham was born in 1714. Their first child is listed as having been born in 1725 (this seems too early). Their second child is listed as having been born in 1737. Third in 1740, Fourth in 1741, Fifth in 1752, and sixth in 1756, with two other children born in unknown years.

If James married Jean Foster in 1748, as some records suggest, then she would not have been the mother of his first 4 children. No records have been found about James having another wife. A record was found that indicated that they were married about 1732. In this case, the birth dates for all of the children except the first seem plausible; Unless James had his first child when he was 11, Mary Elizabeth was not born in 1725, assuming she was the daughter of James Graham and Jean Foster. If Jean was born in 1720, she could not have given birth to a child in 1725. I suspect that Jean was born closer to the year that James was born (1714).
