Dame Ruthven, here treated, is the daughter of William, Earl of Gowrie, and his wife Lady Dorothea Stewart. She was married, before 1588, to James, Lord Ogilvy of Airlie, and died in 1611, on 6 January, or 6 February in that year. Her testament dative and inventory was recorded on 12 January 1616.
