Pierre, son of Jehan Le Roux, merchant tawer, and of deceased Jehanne Chauffour, was born on Friday 1 September 1623 and was presented for baptism the following Sunday by Pierre Chauffour and Anne Bourguignon.
Pierre's parents, the couple Jehan Le Roux and Jehanne Chauffour, whose marriage was celebrated in the temple of Mer. The inscription in the marriage register (AD 41 - I 33/1:16) is as follows, in translation:
On Sunday 31st of May 1615 was blessed the marriage of Jehan Le Roux son of Richar(d) LeRoux and deceased Marye Dutens once his wife his father and mother and Jehanne Chauffour daughter of Gentian Chauffour and Marie Petit his wife also his father and mother.

Jean le Roux (Born 16 Nov 1666): Owned the farms Goede Moed in Southern Paarl from 1690 to 1700; farm Parys in Klein Drakenstein from 1700 to 1712. He drowned with Gabriel in the Berg- or Wildeperdsrivier in 1711. Jean was married (c1703) to Jeanne MOUY Born *c. 1686 St. Amand, Flandres, France, daughter of Pierre Mouy. [1]

Gabriel and Jean wanted their farms to be closer together. [1] Gabriel drowned with Jean in the Berg- or Wildepaardrivier before 8 Nov 1711. [1] The two Le Roux widows both had their sons baptized (born after their father’s deaths) on 8 Nov 1711. Both had to receive assistance from the ‘diakonie’ (from the church). [1] Marie Catherine le Febre re-married 11 September 1712 - Jean Roi (died 1720) [1] Marie Catherine re-married a 3rd time in 1723 - Franz Haarhoff (died 1758) [1] Jeanne MOUY married again on 7 May 1712 - Philippe Meinard (1681-1751).
