About Jeanette M Howe

Jeanette (Baumgartner) Howe, 60, Bismarck, passed away January 4, 2015, with her husband by her side. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Jeanette was born November 7, 1954, at Fort Riley, Kansas, to Victor and Lois Baumgartner. After Victor completed his military service the family settled in Braddock, ND. Jeanette was the second of seven children. Life growing up in a small town was good and Jeanette forged many lifelong friendships, bonds and a strong relationship with her church and God.

Jeanette went on to attend North Dakota State University, in Fargo, ND. In Fargo was where she met her husband, Terry. They married on June 11, 1977. Jeanette had two children, Margaret and Nicholas. Her children were the lights of her life in each and every way.

Jeanette found her passion for photography while still living in Fargo when she began working for Monarch Photo. Once Terry and Jeanette moved their family to Bismarck, Jeanette continued to work in photography at Bob's Photo. After a career of over 30 years working in the industry and several years of being a freelance photographer, Jeanette decided it was time to go into business for herself full-time. Jeanette enjoyed her photography immensely; both the art of capturing people and the personal connections she made.

Jeanette remained active in her church and community. She enjoyed meeting people and rarely left a new encounter without a new friend. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her kindness, compassion and desire to help others will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Howe, Bismarck; daughter, Margaret Howe; Mesa, AZ; son, Nicholas Howe, Bismarck; mother, Lois Baumgartner, Bismarck; brothers, Steve Baumgartner (Sandra Humann), Bismarck, and Dean Baumgartner (Seanna Ramsey), Braintree, MA; three sisters, Nancy Kane (Steve Kane), Brooklyn Park, MN, Pam Danforth (Ken Danforth) Fort Collins, CO, and Heidi Holloway (Andy Holloway) Denver, CO; sister in-law, Sandra (Jangula) Baumgartner; mother in-law, Vera Howe, Renville, MN; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Victor; father in-law, Richard Howe; brother, David Baumgartner; niece, Robyn (Baumgartner) Jangula; and other aunts and uncles.
