About Jeanne Ann Adshead

Services were held this week for Jeanne Ann Adshead, age 88, of Fairhaven, who died Monday March 9, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital.

The daughter of the late Harold Francis Adshead and Elizabeth Marion (Black) Adshead, she was born in New Bedford and lived most of her life in Fairhaven.

Jeanne graduated from Fairhaven High School Class of 1944 and Westfield State Teachers College Class of 1949 with a B.S. degree in education. She taught in Fairhaven for a few years and many years in New Bedford Schools.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild. Jeanne was also active in Fairhaven with the Colonial Club, the Improvement Association, the Millicent Library, and Bristol County Teachers Association, the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the Historical Association of Fairhaven.

Jeanne is survived by her dear cousin George Black and his wife Florence of Columbia, Missouri, and many dear and loving friends. She was the sister of the late Richard Adshead.

Arrangements were with the WILSON CHAPEL, 479 County St. New Bedford, MA.
