"My brother, Jeffrey Alper was shot dead in Epping in Cape Town on the 16th of APRIL 1999. Our country is in a sorry state. Half of my family have emigrated as a result of the violence. When I put a Death notice in The Argus for his death, the insert read “Passed away in this violent South Africa etc etc”.
