• Request to mary David Whiteman (free) 21 January 1850 - RGD37/9 1850/345r. Witness at marriage to David Whiteman is Margaret McRae. She was tried and transported for the same crime as Jemima in Edinburgh.

  • Lived Harrington Street, Hobart at birth of Jane Elizabeth in 1851.
  • Jane was born in 1851 and David in 1852. David died in 1852.
  • 20/10/ 1852 Jemima Whiteman found guilty of stealing 20 pounds and other monies, property of William Piggott in Hobart.

She had 2 more children to David Whiteman after this, Maria in 1854 and Susannah in 1857,

1854 - Jemima was charged with stealing from a seaman at a place of bad repute. The prosecutor was not in attendance, so she was therefore discharged from this offence. She was charged for misconduct while being a prisoner of the crown and got nine months imprisonment.

Jane Elizabeth was put into Queens Orphan School on 02/06/1855 and discharged to her mother on ticket of leave on 17/03/1857.

Maria was put into Queen Orphan Scholl on 03/04/1856 and was discharged on 08/04/1867. She was put in again on 28/01/1869 and discharged on 31/03/1869.
