Went to design school in Holland, with the ambition of taking his father's simple wood-turning business, and turning it into a design firm that produced wood objects for the home. Moved his wife and two young children from Balassagyarmat to Budapest, where the new factory/workshop was located.
On March 12, 1938, news of the Anschluss reached him and his family. His wife (Natalia Furst) and him both realized her parents (residents of Vienna) were in danger. They agreed he would procure boat passage up the Danube River to Vienna in order to bring her parents back to the relative safety of Hungary.. On September 12, of that year, Jeno got on his motorcycle to purchase those tickets, but never returned: He swerved his motorcycle to avoid a jaywalking pedestrian, hit the sidewalk curb and was thrown from his motorcycle. His head struck the sidewalk, and he died shortly thereafter, leaving two children, and a widow who was unprepared for the management of the new business Jeno had struggled to create.
