About Jennie Isabel Neill

Her father was Thomas Craig, and her mother was Jane Cresswell.


Jennie Isobel Craig, daughter of Thomas and Jane Craig, was born in Jewel county, Kan., May 12, 1879, and died Sept. 30, 1943, at Los Angeles, Calif., at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 18 days.

She was united in marriage to George James Neill Sept. 8, 1896. To this union nine children were born, of whom eight survive, one daughter, Izora, having preceded her in death.

Most of their married life was spent in Pawnee City, with the exception of three years in Oregon, until 14 years ago, when they moved to Lincoln.

As a child she was baptized into the United Presbyterian church and remained a member until after her marriage, when she became a member of the First Baptist church of Pawnee City. She was an active member of the church here until she transferred her membership to the First Baptist church in Lincoln, where she served in various activities. All her interests were centered in her home, her church and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Harold of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Everett of Wymore, Ted of Talmage, and John, who is serving in the armed forces; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Killham of Lincoln, Mrs. Dorothy Sedam of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Margaret Snyder of Pawnee City, and Miss Jennie of Camp Stoneman, Calif.; one brother, Geo. Craig of Camas, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. C. D. Gates of Camas and Mrs. Walter Bennett of Portland, Ore.; 20 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
