1874- Marries Paula Ibarra in Minas Nuevas, Sonora, Mexico. Mother of his three children Josefa, and twin boys Alberto and Alfredo.

1905- Dies in Minas Nuevas, Sonora, Mexico. Mexican Civil Registry claims he is buried in their cemetery, but mysteriously he has a second grave in Nantucket.

according to the New Bedford Whailing Museum Archives, Jeremiah Austin was a boatsteerer board the Roscoe in 1843. In 1851 he was a appointed Captain of the Emma and in 1854 he was the Captain of the Betsy Williams.
