The tract of land at the mouth of the Fankford Creek in Shackamaxon was called Point-no-Point because the appearance of the land changed as people approached it from down-river. It first appeared to be a point jutting out of the river, but seemed to disappear when coming closer. As one progressed, it then seemed to jut out again. This gave rise to a popular jingle:
