Jeremiah Mead (Feb. 13, 1727 - Feb. 5, 1815), son of Caleb, grandson of Ebenezer, great grandson of John, second great grandson of William, said to be born in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony, and died in Carmel, Putnam County, New York, at age 88.

Asserted to have married Amy Lockwood (Mar. 11, 1733 - Aug. 29, 1814), daughter of Caleb Lockwood.

Said to have chosen Caleb Mead as his guardian when his father died in 1733. (Probate records Stamford).

Children asserted to be:

• 1. Lockwood Mead (b. c1754), married Elizabeth (c1754 - June 16, 1829), who died in New York and is married in Maplewood Cemetery in Geneoa, Cayuga County.
• 2. Jeremiah Mead (c1755 - 1831) born in Greenwich, died in Butler County, Ohio.
• 3. Levi Mead (b. c1760)
• 4. Alpheus Mead (1763 - 1838) married Bursheba Lockwood (b. c1765)
• 5. Simeon Mead (June 10, 1765 - 1831) died in Chenango, Broome County, New York at age 83.
• 6. Rhoda Mead (b. c1767) married Ezra Potts
• 7. James Mead (Jan. 8, 1769 - Sept. 16, 1837) born in Horseneck, Greenwich, and died in Chestertown, Warren County, New York.
• 8. Edmund Mead (June 22, 1772 - June 5, 1855) born and died in Greenwich
• 9. Mary Mead (Jan. 10, 1775 - Apr. 3, 1805) married Jonathan Odel Close (Dec. 12, 1768 - Apr. 30, 1812) around 1792.
