About Jeremiah Potts
Jeremiah Potts settled in Union County, Kentucky near Morganfield. He was a farmer and a great hunter and lived to be nearly 100 years old. In fact his death record states that was 97 when he died and the cause of death was old age.
He is mentioned in a Mercer County, Kentucky Deeds Book also. Book 5 page 549. 25 July, 1805 which says:
David Potts of Mercer County, Kentucky to Jeremiah Potts of Mercer County, Kentucky for $1 and natural love and affection 47 acres on Doctors Fork in Mercer County, Kentucky listed in land description: David Potts' plantation; William Tolley; Rice Beadles wit: Archibald Bilbo; David Potts Jr.; Isaac Lansdale.
Jeramiah Potts was also known as Jerry. He was listed in James W. Burris's household on the 1850 Census at District 2, Union, Kentucky.
