Dr Jessie (72), a well-known veterinarian was found tied up, lying motionless in a pool of blood in a horiffic farm attack near Delmas. the much loved vet was found in his house on a farm in Klipspruit, Waaikraal between Delmas / Bronkhorstspruit.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim’s hands and feet were tied when he was found. Police also discovered that the back door of the house was possibly broken by the suspect(s) to gain entry.

- TLU SA says the brutality that accompanied the two recent farm attacks in Waterval-Boven and Delmas in Mpumalanga is extremely worrying. "We are not only seeing an increase in farm attacks and murders, but also that these incidents are becoming more and more brutal,” said Dr. Gawie Lötter, safety manager at TLU SA.
- Lötter said that there had been a clear increase in farm attacks over the past few months: In June, two farm murders were reported. In July there were seven murders reported and in September already six. This brings the number of farm murders for 2022 to 33. Since 1990, there have already been 2,203 farm murders reported.

The City Times visited the Longlife Veterinary Hospital on September 28 and found flowers placed outside the practice wall as community members mourn his death.
