Died Jul 1860 per 1860 Mortality Schedule; According to a DAR Genealogical Form completed by Fannie Courtney Lee, Jesse was b. Edgecombe Co., N. C. 10 Nov 1768 or 1769, and d. 30 Jul 1859. He was the son of Jesse Lee (b.ca 1740) and Miriam Baggett (b. 1750). Jesse Lee Sr. supported the American Revolutionary War effort. Jesse Jr. had an earlier wife than Jane, whose name was Nancy Lewis, b. 17 Feb 1778, d. 1838.
