About Jessie Lenora Harrison
Jessie loved to go. She would go anywhere, anytime, with anyone. As soon as someone was headed to the car, she was right behind with her purse. She loved to hang out with people. She would go to the bar (beer garden), to visit people, to play poker, to the store, or anywhere else she could go. Jessie loved to play poker, but you had to watch her because she was really good at sleight of hand. She was a big fan of vegetables and candy, and she would eat as much as she could get of either or both. Jessie was an amazing cook. Her homemade bread cannot be replicated - nor can her salad dressing, or her ease with baking cakes or making fudge. Jessie was a shopper - at discount stores, grocery stores, and garage sales, and she was known to take a "free-ninety-nine" discount now and again. She loved to laugh and to tease people. As much as Jessie liked to be out and about, she was raised as a country girl, and she knew all about plants and herbs and their uses. She had all of the recipes stored in her mind, and, unfortunately, we lost most of that with her. Jessie was not a mild-mannered, patient, tender person. She was a spitfire full of courage, fun, and adventure.
