Jimmy D. (Jungle) Anderson, 55, of Desdemona, Texas, retired professional bullfighter of 32 years, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at his residence. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Edmonson officiating. Burial will be at Howard Cemetery, Desdemona, TX. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2008, at Lacy Funeral Home.

He was born on September 6, 1953, to the late Ray and Margie (Chew) Anderson in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Billie Louise Jones on May 27, 2002, in Dublin, TX. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Jimmy was a Gold Card Member of the PRCA, a member of the PBR, and a member of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. He was also a member of the Cowboy Capital Walk of Fame in Stephenville, Texas. Jimmy was inducted in the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and was Wrangler Bullfighter of the Year multiple times.

Jimmy saved many a cowboy throughout the world with his excellent bull-fighting skills and offered many laughs as a rodeo clown. Ted Nuce, Jim Sharp, Ty Murray, Tuff Hedeman, Donnie Gay, Charlie Sampson and countless other cowboys owe their lives to this quick thinking, fast footed world class cowboy. Jimmy was always quick to offer a joke and bring a smile to your face. His laugh was infectious, and he was insistent on always having fun. He was a true cowboy with a huge heart for others, especially his family and children. He is greatly loved & missed.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Anderson of Desdemona, TX; daughters, Brooke, Shannon, and Keely of Stephenville, TX; sisters, Dena Davis of Burleson, TX, and Lisa Cervantes of Burleson, TX; brother, Danny Anderson of Arlington, TX; nephews, Jordan Anderson of Arlington, TX, Ray Longo of Burleson, TX, J.D. Davis of Burleson, TX, and Caleb Davis of Burleson, TX; nieces, Lindsey Heinlein of Arlington, TX, and Jacque Cervantes of Burleson, TX; and many friends in the rodeo profession.

Dear Family, We just wanted you to know we are thinking of you, during this time of sorrow. Jimmy was a good man, who brought happy times to many rodeo fans. He will live forever in the minds of countless individuals. He has been my friend since high school and will live in my heart forever. I was lucky enough to attend the 2001 PBR World Finals and see Jimmy's final performance and meet him in the press room. He was a legend and will be greatly missed in the rodeo world. All of us at Rodeo Attitude send our condolences to his family.
