- It appears that Job is the illegitimate son of Abigail Wilson, by Job Drake (1678-1712). Frank B. Gay in The Descendants of John Drake of Windsor, page 26, places Job as no. 52, son of Job Drake (1678-1712) no. 51, but does not elaborate, nor does he suggest a mother. The will of Job Drake (1678-1712) does not mention Job or any other children, or a wife. His estate goes to his siblings. The will of Elizabeth (Clark) (Cook) Drake, mother of Job Drake (1678-1712) mentions her children and many grandchildren, but not Job. It appears that the Drake family did not acknowledge Job. The will of Mary Hoskins, mentions her grandson, Job, son of her daughter Abigail Alford, but does not give his surname. In 1729, the same Mary Hoskins deeds to her grandson, Job Drake, land in Simsbury.
