Job Harris Hooper

Job was the eldest son of John Hooper and Elizabeth Harris. He was born a couple of years after they emigrated to Australia. At that stage they were living (presumably farming) at Campbellfield, near Broadmeadows, a little beyond the outskirts of Melbourne. A few years later the family moved to North West Mooroopna when the land was opened up for closer settlement. Job must of met Agnes while her family were farming nearby at Undera. However, by the time they were married, Job was well into his thirties and Agnes was in her early thirties. The wedding was held in a house in Ascot Vale (this was Agnes' elder sister, Amelia Wilkie's home) and Job's family came down from North West Mooroopna, Agnes' family came from Coolamon in NSW and the minister came from Undera. They ran a successful farm at Undera until Job retired in his late fifties. They moved to Knight Street, Shepparton but Job died shortly after at 57. Job and Agnes had 2 kids-Charles Harris (my Pop) and Elizabeth Agnes (later Mrs Claney).
