About Johan Edvard (John Edward) Anderson
Y Haplogroup R-CTS241
Johan "John" was the first brother to move to America. According to his application for American citizenship, he arrived April 12, 1892. John had brown hair and blue eyes, a light complexion and weighed about 155 pounds. He was 5 ft 7 inches tall. Records vary as to his occupation, however I own a table he built shortly after arrival, and it is beautiful.
Birth records also show last name of Larsson. The father of the family, Anders Gustaf Larsson sometimes used only Gustaf Larsson. The family surname appears as Andersson and Larsson, depending.
There are errors in the attached obituary which are not the fault of the family member who created it. Family lore held the brothers were from Stockholm. All attached records clearly show Johan "John" and the others were born
in Ekeskog.
John made at least one return trip to Sweden, appearing in records in the Spring of 1901. He departed from Göteborg on 19 April 1901. (attached under sources) This is of interest as his brothers Anders (Andrew) and Karl had immigrated to the United States in late March of 1901, intending to stay with John. Anders/Andrew did so, however, it is unclear what became of Karl.
in the Spring of 1907, John purchased the Woolley Farm in Grafton, Vermont from W.P. Dodge. (See screenshot under profile photos.)
