About Johann Casper Stobel

From :

German immigrant in the group of German-Swiss from, around Bern, Switzerland and the Palatine area of Germany who settled in and around Orangeburg and Charles town, South Carolina in about 1735. Caspar became an Indian trader most likely exchanging manufactured goods for animal skins. He was arrested in 1781 because his sons were fighting with American patriot forces and died in the cellar of Charles towns Exchange building.
