According to SAG Vol 5b (VAN DER MERWE) (see Sources), Johanna Susanna Marchand * Paarl c. 1824 + Wellington 25.12.1882 was "d.v. Bernard Pierre Jacques Marchand en Johanna Dederika Redelinghuis".

However, this contradicts with SAG Vol 5b (MARCHANT), where Bernard Pierre Jacques Marchand had only two children: Johannes Henricus Redelinghuys Marchand (b1) (born 1820) and Bernard Petrus Jacobus Marchand (b2) (born 1826).

Was Johanna Susanna Marchand (born 1824) also a child of Bernard Pierre Jacques Marchand SV/PROG?

I believe the question above was satisfactorily resolved by referring to the very detailed research about the "Redelinghuys Family of Sonquasdrift, Riebeekwest", where Bernard Pierre Jacques Marchand SV/PROG is shown to have six children, including Johanna Susanna.

Her grave (see Sources), although very difficult to decipher, seems to read

"Josep C J van der Merwe en Johanna S van der Merwe (geb Marchand) Overl op 16?/18? en 24 Dec 1882 in den ouderdom van 47 en 51 jaren."
