Johannes Ralla was an important person in building the apothecary system in Germany. 1533 he bought the Pharmacy "König Salomon" in Leipzig. He built a botanical garden. He was a friend of Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon.
According to some genealogists his original name was Dünnewald and he was the son of the apothecary and mayor of Frankenberg Hans Dünnwald. But according to the corpse preaches from the Stollberg collection (see http://geneal.lemmel.at/Rlla.html for more information, I also read the preaches myselves though, they are not allowed to be shared on the internet by the library, though) the name "Dünnwald" for him formed out of a joke Philipp Melanchthon made about Ralla, and this happened when he already lived in Leipzig. So his birthname was not Dünnewald. While he was from Frankenberg and is an apothecary, most likely Hans Dünnwald was not his father.
The pharmacy "König Salomon" was at "Markt 7", though Ralle later moved it to Grimmach'sche Straße 10.
