Argent, an anchor in bend sinister azure, [31] on a chief azure three cranes or (fig. 167).
Johannes Zacharias Beck, fr. Langensalza; arr. 1713 in the Dutch Company's service, later innkeeper at Rondebosch and Mowbray. Marr. (1) Elsje van As; (2) 31.10.1728 Geertruyd Christina Blankenberg.
According to Bell the drawing was made from the arms on the seal of Reynier Beck, grandson of the above, 'a wellknown and respected notary'. He was bapt. Cape Town, 4.1.1769 and marr. 18.4.1790 Catharina Cloete.
