Surgeon for 22nd Foot Served in India

Left nothing by father as had "benefitted from Education and Military uniform" From his father's will:

"and in respect John Anderson, Doctor of Medicine, assistant Surgeon in Her Majestys twenty second Regiment of Foot and now in India, my fourth son has already received from me in the shape of a most expensive education and of outfit for the army, a full share of my means and estate, he shall not be entitled to ask or claim any thing further therefrom excepting a share of the excess or surplus, if any such there be, or my funds and estate as after mentioned" "And I also leave and bequeath to my said son John and the said Henry Scott Anderson shall deliver or transmit to him as soon after my death as convenient my gold ring containing his mothers hair and water coloured drawing of myself and the small silver salver belonging to me"
