Wrote a book, The Early Religious History of John Barr, left as a legacy to his grandchildren. Entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1852, by Alexander "W. Mitchell, M. D. In the office of the Clerk of the District Court for tneEastern District of Pennsylvania.

Also from same source. (Check p.7 of Ellie's Book. A bit cnfuing there, but talking about the same family., Anne M. Campbell says John was born in York County, PA .and emigrated to NC in 1765.(John was 16. Lots of information on p. 7ff.
He settled in the Back Creek neighborhood of Rowan County, North Carolina. He was one of the first elders in Back Creek Church and donated the land on which the church was built in 1805.[1][2]
