About John Andrew Bellinder
Wamego -- John Andrew Bellinder, 62, Wamego, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at a Manhattan Health center. He had cancer.
Mr. Bellinder worked for Jeffrey Energy Center as a security guard until he retired in 1999 for health reasons. He was also a truck driver for Eichem Brothers Freight Co. for several years and worked for Kenshaw Ready Mix Co. in Manhattan and Balderson Co. for nine years as a laborer.
He was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Flush, the son of Adam and Anna Hahn Bellinder.
He was a lifelong resident of Wamego. He attended early schooling at St. Bernard's Catholic School and graduated from Wamego High School in 1955. Mr. Bellinder was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both in Wamego. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting, gardening and working around the house.
He married Anna Wagner on Nov. 15, 1974 in Wamego. They divorced.
Other survivors include a daughter, Kathy Barlow, Wamego, two sons, Jerry Vanshier, Florence, Miss., and Joe Bellinder, Salina; two brothers, Francis Bellinder and Gene Bellinder, both of Wamego; and nine grandchildren.
